How To Remove Gel Polishes Properly

Hello,

They look beautiful. They dry fast and last for weeks. But at what risk?
There are growing concerns about nail damage caused by “no-chip” manicures.
Many people do not know how gel polishes and extentions need to be removed properly. All the Asins do this by soaking the whole hand in bow with aceton, which first cause burning sensation to your skin and dries it,and on second place deffinetly damage your nails.

Unproper removal my cause severe damage to your nails.

Pads soaked in acetone are supposed to be wrapped around the nail for 10 to 40 minutes or more, depending on the brand and the number of coats of polish used.

Polish should come off gently, and should be   scraped  off and pry  off the nail for speed.

A woman ( year ago in Chicago) lost a nail because of unproper removal.

Hope this was helpful and carefully you will pick your nail tech if you really want your 2 weeks no-chip manicure.

Thanks for reading.

Can Shellac Damage Your Nails

Nail obsessives have been seduced by a new type of manicure that combines the longevity of artificial nails with the convenience of conventional nail polishes.
The result is a glossy manicure that lasts two weeks — perfect if you’re jetting off on holiday. In theory, it doesn’t damage your nails in the same way a ‘false’ gel or acrylic manicure can.
Dermatologists at the University of Miami School of Medicine were prompted to investigate after women complained their nails had been damaged after Shellac or OPI Axxium treatments.
Dermatologist Andrea Chen put the treatments to the test using various instruments to accurately measure the thickness of her own nails before and after a manicure.
The results showed a definite decrease in the thickness after the treatment, though whether it was caused by the manicure or the removal process (the manicure must be soaked off in an acetone solution) remains unclear.
Acording to Samantha Sweet, a spokeswoman for Shellac,   this shouldn’t be a problem.
‘Applying Shellac shouldn’t damage the nail surface,’ she says. ‘The polish has a honeycomb construction, making it porous. The oils penetrate and nourish nails.’
She also says proper removal means acetone soaked cotton wool is placed on the polish and left there just long enough to soften it. ‘You shouldn’t be saturating the nail with acetone, and you certainly shouldn’t soak the entire hand in a bowl of acetone,’ she says
‘Definitely use a nail oil afterwards and keep them short,’ saysshe. ‘Use hand cream and massage almond oil into the nail and cuticle daily. This should minimise damage, but there are no guarantees.'

Why women gain weight with age

Although we strive hard to maintain normal weight, one of the worst things that come with age, is gaining extra pounds.
Scientists discovered the link between weight and age for the fair sex.
After menopause, the activity of an enzyme playing a major role in the production of fat increases.
Also known as Aldh1a1, the enzyme is reason to accumulate more dangerous fat around organs, known as visceral fat.
This can cause the development of type 2 diabetes, heart disease and cancer and is produced by the enzyme accumulates mainly in women when consuming a high fat meal.
Researchers at Ohio State University found that female hormone estrogen suppresses the effects of dangerous bacteria.
The downside is that when women are in menopause, hormone levels decrease dramatically, and Aldh1a1 is free to rampage in the body, leading to weight gain.
Focusing on Aldh1a1, professionals can develop new treatments against obesity in women, said assistant professor of human nutrition at Ohio State University - Ziozenkova oils.
To test whether the accumulation of visceral fat has to do with estrogen levels in women, the researchers surgically removed the ovaries of mice.
If animals could no longer produce estrogen their bodies started to produce retinoic acid, which leads to the formation of visceral fat.
"It appears that estrogen protects female mice from obesity-related hormones or junk food," says Dr. Ziozenkova.
"This means that estrogen inhibits the activation of hormones associated with obesity, and as soon as women enter menopause, visceral fat starts to increase," the investigator continued.
The study was published in the January issue of the journal Diabetes, reported Daily Mail.
